Co-Founder of The Art of Shaving Closes Skincare Brand Ingredients

Beauty Independent reported that the radically clean skincare brand Ingredients launched by Myriam Zaoui and Eric Malka is closing. All products on the brand's website are reduced by 80%.WHO: Ingredients was the culmination of 25 years of passion, entrepreneurial expertise, and experience of Myriam and Eric Malka, co-founders of The Art of Shaving. Ingredients was grounded in radical transparency and products that are 100% plant-based and free of all toxins and petrochemicals. The formulas were deconstructed using minimally processed, 100% active plant-based ingredients to create separate plant water–based and oil-based formulas, eliminating the need for stabilizing and binding chemicals. The brand launched with a full assortment of 16 products across skincare, bodycare, and wellness, priced from $18 to $48.WHY: The brand said its issues were due to execution rather than conception. They launched with a large assortment and had an aggressive launch strategy, over-investing in direct-to-consumer and over-expanding in retail distribution.
